Why We Forge: The Apprentice's Journal

Welcome to The Forge of Vulkan.

This is the public workshop of a multidisciplinary apprentice. I am learning—in real time, in public—how to build a creative life from the ground up.

My name is Vulkan, and I am not an expert. I am an explorer. I'm here for one reason:

To document the raw, messy process of becoming a creator-entrepreneur across multiple disciplines, and to build a supportive community of fellow learners.

My Forge plan

The traditional advice is: "Become an expert in one thing before you try another."

But what if your curiosity doesn't work that way? What if you're fascinated by writing, game design, digital art, and code—all at once?

You face a choice:

1. Suppress your curiosity and force yourself into a single niche.
2. Fragment your energy across a dozen tutorials and platforms, never finishing anything.
3. Embrace the multidisciplinary journey—publicly, systematically, with others.

I've chosen Option 3. This is my experiment. The Forge is my lab notebook.

My Philosophy: Learning in Public as a Business Model

I believe the process of learning is as valuable as the expertise.

While experts teach you what to do, a fellow apprentice shows you how it actually feels—the frustration, the breakthroughs, the dead ends. That's what I offer: unfiltered access to the learning curve.

My current learning stack includes:

• Craft: Writing light novels, creating 2D/3D art, developing indie games.
• Technology: Building web applications with Astro & .NET, creating tools for creators.
• Business: Figuring out marketing, sales, and building an audience from zero.

The 90/10 Rule: 90% of my focus is on doing, learning, and documenting. 10% is on packaging those lessons for others. You're not paying for finished wisdom; you're funding the exploration.

✍️ My Journey

I began, like many, with a dozen half-started projects. A YouTube channel about gaming, a blog about tech, sketches for a novel, folders of unfinished game prototypes.

I had bursts of motivation but no sustainable system. I was learning in private, failing in private, and making no progress.

The shift happened when I decided to learn in public. To treat my creative development not as a hidden hobby, but as a documentable process. To share:

• The tutorials that actually work.
• The tools that don't break.
• The business experiments that succeed (and more importantly, those that fail).
• The actual work—my novels, my game demos, my art—as it evolves from terrible to tolerable to (hopefully) good.

The Forge is this commitment, made permanent. It's the accountability loop I needed. Every week, I have to show up and report: What did I learn? What did I build? What did I screw up?,

The Forge is not a polished academy. It's an active construction site.

• People who want "get rich quick" schemes or passive income blueprints.
• Anyone uncomfortable with messiness, uncertainty, and the phrase "I don't know yet."

The Invitation

This is an invitation to witness and participate in a work in progress.

You're not buying a finished product. You're funding an exploration and getting a front-row seat to the creative process in its most honest form.

It's a path of vulnerability, constant learning, and small, daily victories. It's the only way I know how to build something real.
